School for My Dimas

My lovely chubby 4 y.o son, Dimas, is a kindergarten student. The school doesn't look like a school at all. It just look like a house, where kids can freely play around.

A friend asked me why I choose this unfamiliar place, since there are so many popular schools around, equipped with complete facilities and well-trained teachers. Well, I think a good school is not always depend on how complete the school's facilities has, nor how good is the teacher trained. 2 years ago when I was looking around finding a perfect school for Dimas, the most important thing in my mind is the school's concept and curriculum.

Once, I visited a "well-furnished" kindergarten, I thought, at that time, the complete facilities will accompanied with a good concept of teaching. But I was wrong. It was not always like that. The school sell only luxury, it did not have a comprehensive method of teaching. Luxury will only teach people to be a consumptive person. I never wanted my Dimas to be like that.

Then, I found this place. Simply a house with moderate kind of toys, but supported with well trained psychologists as their teachers. They not only teach the children everything for their life, but also look after psychological conditions of every student and analyze whether the student have a physical or emotional disorder. I do think it is important for if a student is detected has one of the symptoms, he may earlier be taken into a therapy in order to minimize or even recover from it.

In 2011, Dimas will have to continue to elementary school. Again, from now on I have to find a perfect school for him. Actually, finding this level is far easier. But still, quality is priority. I have chosen 2 private schools with moderate facilities but have a comprehensive type of teaching. I have to catch up an enrollment from now because those 2 schools are favorite schools with hundreds of registrars. The sooner Dimas get listed in the school the bigger the chance is to be accepted in the school.

The process of school selection for our children is important for it will determine the way of learning although it is not a lifetime guarantee. But at least we have already preparing the most appropriate infrastructure for our children's future, while the rest is our duty to deliver our children to a better life.
