
Efficiency, rationalization, lay off or whatever it is, become a spooky term for someone's career as an effect of USA crisis lately. The collapse obstructs all over the world, thus it influences the stabilization of economic and industry. As a result, prices jumps up infatuatedly.
Companies gradually decrease their employees in the name of efficiency, especially to those which could not stand with the economic crisis. This is definitely threaten someone's career unless he/she has "something" to convince the company that he/she is very much capable and able to give whatever it takes to develop the company and bring it to the top.
There are at least 8 ways to boost your career performance in order to keep you "stay":
- be a visionary, who is able to modify management. An executive has to be able to anticipate a condition and to see that the crisis is a perfect moment to be conquered.
- enhance management capability. Whatever we are working on, it should be addressed for the shake of the company as well as the country.
- career should be based on passion. It does not make any sense if we take a career opportunity which is not fit to our heart, capability and passion. Do something without passion is tasteless, no trigger means no spirit.
- take management or self development training like leadership training, soft skill training (communication skill, ethics, etc.)
- be not afraid of ideal criteria. We still have a bigger chance if we only had 3 out of 10 asked criteria in a job qualification. Just try it!
- develop the skill to interact with colleagues or work fellow. Keep away from those thoughtless and introvert attitude.
- take initiative, if you fell you are the one who is capable, propose your self!
- be not money oriented. Ask your self, what have you give to the company? not what has the company give to you. Sure it will reduce your credibility.
The weakness of Indonesian women executives is willingness to a totality. Whereas, they are superior, compare to men, in the ability of persuasive, competitive spirit and multitasking. Women are needed to handle important departments like marketing, finance and human resources. So, there is no need to feel unable and helpless. Be optimist that you have what it takes inside, just show it off, and you will not regret!
